Best Symbian S60 Theme contest winners!

Few months ago, when the Best Symbian S60 Theme contest was just an idea, we did not imagine that it would turn out so good. Thirteen amazing themes from the best theme designers competing for the title. For the past month there were over 100.000 downloads of this themes by the visitors of our site. This means that there are over 100.000 themes installed on Nokia, Samsung and LG Symbian S60 3rd edition and Symbian S60 5th edition mobile phones out there. We were very excited to see such a interest in the Best Symbian S60 theme competition.
Last night after closing the voting on the site, we reviewed the votes and after a while the winners of the contest were made clear.

And here are the final results from the voting along with the download stats for each theme submitted to the Best Symbian S60 Theme Contest.

So, now when the contest is over it is time to hand out the prizes for the winning Symbian S60 themes as we announced in the contest rules page, nearly two months ago. We would like to invite the winning authors to contact us about the specifics of how would they like to receive their prizes.

All in all we would like to congratulate the winners and express the gratitude of the users of this site to all the designers who submitted their themes to the competition.
Soon we are planing on hosting a second theme contest but for the details check out our site and don't forget to sign up for the Free Symbian Themes mailing list to say updated with the latest themes and announcements.

Update: Concerning the voting system there are a few things that need clarifying . As first the number of downloads has no importance in the theme ranking, user votes do since many users can download a theme but if they like it enough to vote for it is a matter of personal preferences and taste.
There have been a few comments on why this kind of voting type was used and we want to say that it was the only one that we could use for the simple reason that we do not require users to register in order to download themes and voting with e-mail addresses will be unsuccessful due to privacy concerns. Many users feel uncomfortable giving up their email address because there are too many sites on the net that sell this addresses to spammers and who wants more junk in their mailbox.

If you have any ideas on how to improve and create a more successful theme contest, we are open to suggestions. Any ideas are welcomed and will be considered for the next Best Symbian S60 Theme contest.

Valepunto the contest was based on votes not on the number of downloads. I don't know why kimi increase more than 17000 download in the last day too.... but it's not very important. I have less download than you and flahorn but maybe every user who has downloaded my theme has voted.

About the downloads, how can any one know how many downloads were there on a theme the previous day since there is no such info on the site. And about the increase in kimi's theme downloads in the last day with 17.000, I personally checked the download logs and there is no such thing, nothing out of the ordinary or to be exact kimi's theme got less downloads that day then any other day of the competition. Instead of speculating on what how and why, let us do that job. We worked hard to create the voting system as transparent and real as we could create it given the resources we had. This contest is not about winning only, it is about participation and sharing. After all we are not roman gladiators that fight to the death.

I wonder why downloads is being noticed?? as all themes were never the less & I am 100% sure all three theme deserves the winning position. Valepunto you won the competition but you aren't satisfied but I am satisfied that the 1st & 2nd theme were best theme ever. Its becoz small size & pretty beautiful themes, & all new UI for our lovely handsets.

I have not said that my themes are better than any other 3 were the most downloads of the month, Ladybug 1, 2 green, 3 angelous, so I thought that the winner had to be flahorn. He continued to discharge during this month to get an idea of the most viewed on the site and the potential winners, and as this list is only given us a surprise, the theme of baby, congratulations baby!
